I enjoyed growing up on a large beef cattle farm in Michigan. In addition to working with my father, grandfather, and brother on the farm, I spent a significant amount of time playing team sports. After graduating from high school, I continued my education attending Messiah College in Grantham, PA and graduated with a B.S. in biology.

I returned to Michigan after college, attended medical school at Michigan State University, and remained in Lansing, Michigan for my orthopedic residency training at McLaren Orthopedic Hospital and Sparrow Hospital through Michigan State University. After residency I decided to pursue additional sub-specialty training in advanced arthroscopy and sports medicine and accepted a fellowship position at Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.

Specializing in orthopedic sports medicine has allowed me to combine my mechanical background from growing up on a farm with my passion for sports and helping people of all ages remain active. Although I enjoy general orthopedics my specialty lies in minimally invasive arthroscopic and reconstructive techniques for the shoulder, knee, and elbow.

I have an amazing wife and two beautiful children. I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, farming, hiking, and remain an avid football and sports fan.
